Engineering Manager (Feed Management)

We are looking for an engineering manager to join team Aqueduct, which focuses on campaign management and feeds processing. This team owns cross-platform highload services which help customers to automate ads creation.

The Cross-Platform Group is responsible for ensuring users can run their ad operations smoothly across different platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, and Snapchat. The teams are building a variety of platform-agnostic solutions to power needs like campaign analytics, actionability, advertising automation and access management.

The main goal for these teams is to solve complex technical problems only once in a way that works across all the different advertising platforms and produce powerful cross-platform tools with a smooth user experience. While a large part of the Group’s work revolves around customer-facing solutions, they also build and maintain internal services and infrastructure that other development teams can leverage and build on. The Group’s work is highly interconnected with other Product Groups, meaning they get to tackle interesting architectural challenges.

We are quite agnostic about technology and always aim to choose the best tools for the job. On the backend, our stack is Ruby and Kotlin usually coupled with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch and/or RabbitMQ. On the front-end side of things, we useReact with TypeScript.

The team consists of both product specialists and engineers,and alongside the lead engineer you will take the lead in delivering quality products and features that address customer needs. As an engineering manager, you will be in charge of getting the best out of people, through coaching, 1:1s, helping them build a development plan and in general removing blockers from the team’s path.

What we’re looking for

  • You have experience throughout the full software life-cycle in an environment with multiple teams
  • You have built and maintained large-scale, high-availability web applications with an active and growing user base
  • You have experience in various agile development practices as well as the pragmatism to know which tradeoffs are acceptable and a sharp focus on delivery.
  • Ability to deliver constructive feedback that leads to meaningful changes and growth.
  • Empathetic and user-focused: you care deeply about the product experience, you understand users’ motivations and frustrations, and you genuinely want to help them
  • You are a skilled developer. You will need to be hands-on when coaching the team members to new technical and professional heights, which can involve code reviews, pair programming, etc
