Country Manager - Greater China

Location: Shanghai, Commitment Full-time, Team Customers

Have you been directly involved in building an A-team and scaling a business, with a particular focus on sales, customer success, partnerships, and strategy? We are hiring a Country Manager to expand and accelerate the growth of Smartly.io in one of our key markets - Greater China.

As the Country Manager - Greater China, you will represent Smartly.io across all verticals in the market, and you will also maintain and develop our culture internally by leading the Greater China operations. You relish the challenge of building something from scratch, and then growing and managing it methodically. You enjoy being close to customers and to the product. You have a passion to help customers realise measurable business value, and a strong understanding of technical concepts.

As the Country Manager - Greater China, you will

  • Drive market growth and lead sales and strategic partnership efforts with full accountability to deliver revenue.
  • Establish regional sales and operational processes to build efficiency and manage costs.
  • Build Smartly.io’s presence and improve brand awareness in Greater China: work closely with our marketing team to build thought leadership, engage in community building and facilitate PR and media relations.
  • Increase product adoption, champion product improvements and help drive them to launch, together with our product management, product marketing and engineering teams.
  • Drive recruitment for high caliber A-team members and oversee all functions in the local office, whether directly or indirectly.
  • Embody the Smartly.io values and play a lead role to ensure the culture engages employees, resonates locally and is consistent globally.

  • You love building and scaling businesses. Ideally you have previously built out the team and operations for a similar high-growth technology company at a larger scale.
  • You lead by example and believe in the power of self-organising teams. You love building connections with people, internally and externally.
  • You feel comfortable communicating with customers and partners. You are able to explain complex concepts in clear, non-technical language and successfully attract new business.
  • You want to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done. You are excited to help the team navigate all of the operational aspects of a growing office. You are highly analytical and inquisitive. If something seems off, you want to figure out what is going on and fix it. If there is something you don’t know, you want to learn all about it.
  • You can think globally, act regionally and locally, and thrive in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment. You are fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • You like and are willing to travel, and to collaborate with the global headquarters in Helsinki and all other offices around the world.
  • You are looking to expand your understanding of the online advertising ecosystem and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Google, Pinterest and more.
  • You have at least 5-8 years of experience in managing and building teams, with an impressive track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets on a consistent basis and demonstrated success at maintaining strong and long-term customer relationships.
