Financial Controller - Group Finance
Location: Helsinki, Commitment Full-Time, Team Finance
We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our global Finance team in Helsinki. This is an exciting time to join our Finance team, as we are starting an extensive walkthrough and development project of our Group wide processes and controls. You will be a key player in shaping our future processes and controls environment.
In this role, you will have a key role in our internal controls development project. As a Financial Controller you will plan the process walkthroughs, conduct interviews with key stakeholders and document the processes both in written and flowchart form. You will draw control matrixes of the existing controls and suggest process and control improvements to enhance the overall accounting environment. Going forward you will do regular internal controls testing and keep the process and control descriptions up to date. You will also be in charge of the writing of our Manual of Accounting. On top of this you will help in the monthly financial closing process as well as take part in drawing up the financial statements.

As a Financial Controller at Smartly.io, you will:
- Lead our internal controls development project by planning and executing process walkthroughs, writing process descriptions and making process flowcharts, forming control matrixes, reporting control deficiencies and suggesting improvements and testing existing controls.
- Plan the structure and write our Manual or Accounting in cooperation with our accounting team
- Take part in our monthly closing processes using both FAS and IFRS frameworks
- Participate in internal tool development such as implementation of invoice approval and purchase order system as well as planning the controls framework and approval matrix around it.

We're definitely looking for you if you:
- Have relevant working experience in auditing, accounting or similar
- Possess a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
- Are fluent in both FAS and IFRS frameworks
- Have audited processes and controls or worked on an internal process and control development project before
- Are comfortable writing and summarizing content from different sources in English
- Have solid organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and co-operate with the team to execute in a fast-paced environment
- Have the drive and needed seniority to push large projects from start to finish
- Are detail and result oriented, comfortable working in collaborative settings, and have an eye for continuously automating and improving processes
- Are fluent in using MS Office (Excel) and Google Sheets
- Are comfortable using English and Finnish in a work context
- Have the legal right to work in Finland
- Prior knowledge of Netsuite ERP system is considered an advantage
