Director of Customer Success (US West)

Location: San Francisco, Commitment Full-Time, Team Enterprise Customer Success

At Smartly.io we help advertisers make beautifully effective ads by automating every step of social advertising to unlock greater performance and creativity.  We are disrupting the social advertising landscape sitting at the forefront of a seismic shift in the way marketers communicate with consumers and prospects while redefining the customer journey experience as they engage with brands.  Given our incredible growth we need a highly motivated and experienced  individual to lead our west coast Customer Success team.  

We are now looking for a Director of Customer Success in our San Francisco office. Together with the east coast director, you will be responsible for millions of dollars of Smartly revenue. You will be the direct manager of the west coast CS team lead as well as the more senior member of the CS team.  

You will be an important driving force in rethinking the Customer Success function for future to ensure that we can effectively help our customers grow and onboard our new services and platform offerings. The Director of Customer Success (US West) reports to the Global VP of Customer Success who is based in Helsinki.

Though we are operating fully remotely while we navigate the current public health climate, this role will ultimately be located in our California office.

As the Director of Customer Success (US West), you will…

  • Ensure high quality customer experience to new and existing customers 
  • Build strategic relationships and position yourself as a trusted advisor to key customers
  • Maximize employee engagement and skills development within their teams 
  • Improve platform and services adoption rate and minimize customer and revenue churn
  • Identify and take action on bottlenecks and areas of improvement within customer success teams
  • Collaborate with regional VP of Sales and other relevant teams across the company 
  • Ensure Smartly.io values are built deep into daily behaviour of the people in the regional offices
  • Collaborate as part of global customer success leadership team to align and solve bottlenecks in a scalable way 
  • We are looking for you if you have…

  • 10+ or more years experience working in Customer Success related role, preferably at a SaaS company
  • 7+ years experience in leading teams within global SaaS and/or marketing automation industries
  • Successful track record working with large, multinational enterprise accounts
  • Experience building a team and training others on commercial and technical product skills
  • Good understanding of social advertising and Smartly.io product
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A master’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, business, computer science, or a technological/international field is a plus
