General Manager, Asia Pacific

We are hiring a General Manager who is an entrepreneur at heart to build on the market leadership position and accelerate the growth of Smartly.io in Asia Pacific.
As an integral part of the Smartly.io management team, you will be responsible for managing the company’s operations across the Asia Pacific region, including sales development and innovation, customer engagement, strategic planning, partnerships and revenue growth. You will coach, support and elevate the entire APAC organisation to deliver value-added solutions and world-class service to our customers.

As the General Manager, you willLead, build and scale Smartly.io’s APAC operations, with full P&L accountability.Build Smartly.io’s presence and improve brand awareness in Asia Pacific; work closely with our marketing team to build thought leadership, engage in community building and represent Smartly.io at key industry events.Develop Smartly.io sales processes and strengthen the sales culture; build a highly effective sales machine in Asia Pacific. Identify and assess market opportunities for business growth.Develop in-depth product and domain knowledge, and ensure APAC organisation’s continuous contribution to the product roadmap and strategy.Engage with different verticals and customers on a regular basis; ensure customer success and loyalty.Work closely with strategic partners including Facebook and Pinterest.Recruit, onboard and coach A-team members; lead the team by example with a servant leadership approach and oversee all functions in the region, whether directly or indirectly.Establish regional operational processes to build efficiency and manage costs.Embody the Smartly.io values and play a lead role to ensure the culture engages employees, resonates locally and is consistent globally.
We’re looking for you ifYou have proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar executive capacity. Ideally you have built and scaled businesses for similar high-growth technology companies.You have experience of working across multiple regions in Asia Pacific.You lead by example and believe in the power of self-organising teams. You love building connections with people, internally and externally.You are a confident decision-maker who takes responsibility for the outcomes and is able to manage teams through changes.You excel at engaging and communicating with customers and partners. You are able to explain complex concepts in clear, non-technical language and successfully attract new business.You want to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done. You are excited to help the team navigate all of the operational aspects of a growing business. You are highly analytical and inquisitive. If something seems off, you want to figure out what is going on and fix it. If there is something you don’t know, you want to learn all about it.You can think globally, act regionally and locally, and thrive in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment. You are fluent in written and spoken English and preferably an Asian language.You like and are willing to travel, and to collaborate with the global headquarters in Helsinki and all other offices around the world.You are looking to expand your understanding of the online advertising ecosystem and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Google, Pinterest and more.
