Objective

TUI wanted to further personalize their Meta ad creatives by enriching them with their Travel Catalog data. The process of enhancing the source data traditionally required heavy coordination with internal teams, making it time-consuming and complex. TUI sought a way to streamline the enrichment of hotel information and add a new level of detail to their ads to boost performance.

Solution

With Smartly AI Studio’s Feed Augmenter, powered by Smartly AI, TUI was able to automatically extract each hotel’s unique selling points from their website and add it directly to their Catalog. This eliminated the need for manual coordination with catalog management teams and made it simple to enhance the data source with additional key information with minimal manual work.

The enriched data in TUI’s Catalog plugged seamlessly into their Smartly Image Templates, making it easy to conditionally render dynamic, personalized creatives that highlighted specific features of each hotel directly in the ad visuals. This helped make the ads more relevant and compelling to potential travelers, while further streamlining campaign setup and boosting performance. 

Combining the enriched Catalog data with Smartly’s dynamic Image Templates, TUI achieved measurable gains in their campaign performance: a 3% increase in click-through rate (CTR), an 11% lift in quality traffic (View Content events), and a 15.5% increase in Purchases, compared to their business-as-usual ads that didn’t leverage the enriched Catalog data. Based on the performance, TUI can expand this successful approach across their global business.
