Objective

HungerStation wanted to stop manually managing budgets and let AI do it instead. Solution

HungerStation partnered with Smartly's account and technical teams to run a clean split test: manual budget management vs. automated allocation powered by Predictive Budget Allocation (PBA).

The key was feeding the AI the right data. HungerStation's internal performance data flowed directly into Smartly through server-to-server integration, letting the AI optimize against their true first-party KPIs, not generic platform defaults.

Campaigns were duplicated in Smartly Workspaces to create controlled test conditions. One set stayed manual and the other ran with PBA enabled, powered by real-time server-to-server data. Throughout the test, both teams validated data quality, ironed out integration issues, and kept campaign setups consistent to protect test integrity.
